Do you remember the first time you really felt beautiful? And we don’t mean the last time you looked in the mirror and liked how a new lip color looked on you. If you take yourself back to the last time you really felt beautiful, maybe you remember also feeling proud of yourself. Proud of the parts of you that were “different”.
We’ve never tried to define the word beauty, because really, who can? We have, however, always championed an un-defining of beauty, of individuality, innovation and the beautifully imperfect.
Journalist and Activist
Noor embraces her vulnerability with the kind of bravery we find utterly beautiful. Using her platforms as a journalist, activist, motivational speaker and documentary producer, the celebrated TEDx talker and first Muslim, hijab-wearing woman to appear in Playboy unites social justice and art for exceptional storytelling.
Wig Connoisseur and Entrepreneur
Tokyo is the hair apparent when it comes to all things coiffed and tressed as he pushes boundaries to reveal the inner and outer beauty that exists in everyone. His custom to-die-for extensions and wigs has him a celeb client list boasting Naomi Campbell, Karrueche Tran, Kylie Jenner, Rihanna & more.
Activist and Designer
Kheris may only be 12-years-old, but she's already checked off Youngest Person to Show During Fashion Week. Her fly Flexin' in My Complexion clothing line is also an empowering movement — one designed for POC (who include but aren't limited to Alicia Keys and Lupita Nyong'o) to feel confident and beautiful in the collective triumph against bullying and colorism.
Motivational Speaker and Model
Mama Cāx is a model, activist and blogger who advocates for body positivity. A cancer survivor who lost her right leg with an amputation at her hip, she recently graced the cover of Teen Vogue with two other inspiring beauties to discuss self acceptance with style and the gorgeous, contagious attitude of loving her body "no matter what society deems as flaws."
Self-image Activist and Social Entrepreneur
Carolina is something of a shamanic hair goddess to those blessed with curly locks and tired of the pressure to relax their tresses. Championing the natural hair movement, she opened Miss Rizos, the premier all-natural hair salon in the Dominican Republic to help normalize hair born with body within the Latinx community.
Supermodel and Philanthropist
Flaviana is a model, entrepreneur, activist and philanthropist who has strutted runways for the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Jason Wu, Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger and Rachel Roy.
