Beautycon is looking for eager and enthusiastic interns to join our team this summer! Interns must be available between 10-15 hours per week. All interns must either be actively enrolled in or have graduated from college within the last year. Beautycon will provide school credit, with several interns having continued on to full-time opportunities with Beautycon.
The Graphic Designer intern will report to the Design and Social Team and will play an integral role in growing our business. Seeking a highly motivated designer with a strong graphic design foundation (typography, form, color, composition, image-making, etc.), and a clean, youthful, playful design sensibility. In this role, you will have the opportunity to create blog, newsletter, web, print, event, and apparel graphics as well as contribute to the continued development of our brand identity. Responsibilities include: research and participate in creating seasonal mood boards pertaining to typography, layout and trends in graphic design relevant to evolving the visual language of Beautycon, contribute to the redesign of the website, email templates, content integration, social media and other various brand projects, design compelling marketing and weekly assets for the home page, landing pages, blog, online ads, social media assets, etc., design core in-house branding projects for apparel and products and update website, blog and other digital platforms.
The ideal candidate will have a background in journalism (or be a journalism major), experience writing for a website, magazine or blog and a passion for all things fashion and beauty. An eye for forecasting fashion and beauty trends, curating stories for a teen reader and a concise consumer of what’s hot, what’s not and what could definitely be the next cool thing. Responsibilities include: writing and editing copy, brainstorming features and coming up with creative pitches for fashion/beauty articles.
The ideal candidate will have a background in journalism (or be a journalism major) as well as concrete copywriting and editing experience. Strong communication skills and a working knowledge of AP style are required. Responsibilities include: writing copy, fact-checking copy and editing copy for content, structure, spelling, grammar, style, tone and ow. Attention to detail is crucial. Experience with SEO preferred.
Social Media Candidates must have experience with and be currently engaged on social media (Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, Vine, Snapchat, Spotify, Google+, Instagram). An interest in social marketing trends and analytics is also necessary. Responsibilities include: updating our social media channels, engaging with followers and creating social campaigns to build our following. SEO knowledge is a plus.
