A celebratory night of pampering at Frederic Fekkai’s Salon and Spa in Manhattan marked the expansion of the renowned style guru’s curly-hair product line.

Amid cocktails, coifs and curly conversation with beauty editors, the Jan. 25 exclusive launch party showcased Fekkai’s new Luscious Curls Shampoo and Conditioner, specially formulated to enhance and define hair’s natural curl. With lingering citrus and floral scents, the new products contain moisture-binding ginseng and honey extracts to hydrate the hair. The moisture-balanced shampoo is designed to cleanse curly tresses without stripping away natural oils, while the hydrating conditioner makes the hair easy to manage and fights frizz, without weighing it down.

“I have been waiting for the day to come when women finally embrace their natural curls,” Frederic Fekkai says. “I developed these products to enhance the natural texture of curly hair and (hopefully”> encourage women to put those flat irons down for good.” No flat irons were in sight at the salon’s launch party, where Fekkai stylists were all abuzz, shampooing and styling the tresses of magazine beauty editors — who also were indulged with manicures and brow shaping from the salon’s top style specialists.

As I was put into the hands of Fekkai’s experts, it was as if the new shampoo suddenly plunged my wavy locks into a sea of orange blossoms. (The invigorating scent even lasted for days.”> The conditioner also appeared to serve as a detangler, which is a dream for women like me, with thick and often-unmanageable manes. In fact, the new products’ innovative resins are complemented with light silicones that serve as an elastic memory to hold the shape of the curl. And it didn’t take long for Cedric, a senior stylist at Fekkai, to coif my freshly shampooed locks into a natural, sensational curly style. As with all Fekkai stylists, he made it look so easy.

Luscious Curls Shampoo (8 oz., $20″> and Luscious Curls Conditioner (8 oz., $20″> will be available this spring. The new products complement Fekkai’s line of curly-hair styling aids Luscious Curls Curl Enhancing Lotion and Wave Spray.
