Model wearing a Victorian braid styled by Matrix

February 11 brought together hundreds of stylists at City Winery for “Texture on the Runway“, a showcase of curls, kinks and waves, presented by TextureMedia, live during New York’s Fashion Week. Runway sponsors and headliners were cheered on and given standing-room only attendance by hundreds of CosmoProf stylists and curlies.

Matrix brought together the creative team and dynamic duo of Nick Stenson and Daniel Roldan to create five finishes, each model sporting a different take on texture, all with an underlying neo-Victorian theme.

The foundation for each look was created using the Matrix Total Results line, (which consists of five ranges: Moisture, Color Care, Sleek, Amplify and Curl”> and used a combination of thermal tools (like Sam Villa’s Textur Iron micro-crimper used to set the style featured in the above video and in the picture to the left”> high-fashion braiding, and strategic backcombing.

Below, Kate Smyth, Matrix’s Media & PR Manager, walks us through the line-up of products used at the show, and gives a sneak peek into what’s launching in March.

Then, be sure to check out the finale of the runway show presented by Matrix, along with a walk through of how Stenson and Roldan created the looks. Fore more deatils on any of the products used at “Texture on the Runway,” visit mymatrixfamily.com.
