We all have our favorites: a favorite movie, celebrity, perfume, and even hair product. If we’re lucky our favorite hair product is easily accessible as well as affordable, but in many cases it is not. Now, you will never get me to admit that pricier brands are always better, but I think we all have a few favorites that seem to be out of our wallet’s comfort zone from time to time. It’s ok to be frugal most of the time and it’s definitely ok to splurge every now and again! When I do get the chance to spend more for my hair products, I have five I cannot seem to get enough of.
Oh man, I love this stuff! Best of the Best for 2013 and Editor’s Choice for 2014 by NaturallyCurly.com for a serious reason. It’s works like a champ at defining my curls and giving my hair a soft sheen that’s sometimes hard to get with natural tresses without the crunch. It’s not super expensive but a big jar (16oz.”> will set you back almost $30. I get movement and hang time and most of all, gorgeous curls. It goes a long way and so worth every penny.
I’ve recently become a junkie for Curl Junkie’s Moisturizing Heat Treatment. I love great deep conditioners and especially with aloe, shea butter, horsetail leaf extract, and nettle. You can’t get enough of this pricy goodness in a jar. Yes, it’s a whopping $20 for an 8oz bottle but it makes my hair feel so good! My hair always feels super soft and if it wasn’t so expensive I would use more of it and more often.
I was addicted to this stuff back in the day and I still haven’t found a gel or pudding to make my hair shinier, sexier, or more gorgeous than this super smooth operator that’s a whopping $38 for a 16oz! For me it’s worth every penny, believe me. My hair is always left glossy like I was on the red carpet. A little crunchy…ok a lot of crunch actually, but if I wanted to have glammed hair then I would have to pick this up! It’s perfect for the ‘show hair’. Nothing, and I do mean nothing has ever made my hair look better.
When I need intensive moisture I check out the DevaCurl Heaven in Hair. I can be hard on my tresses sometimes and in need of that extra rejuvenation that I can only get from this 8oz jar for $25. This is perfect for my curly girl method tresses and gives ultra-deep conditioning, but I can’t use it as often as I would like.
Hair masks are always a good idea for when we are not so nice to our tresses, and this repair hair mask is so worth the extra cash. $30 for a 7oz (yes, only 7oz!”> is so insane but worth every penny. I promise you! I get monoi coconut oil, bamboo water, and hydrolyzed silk proteins that strengthen and nourish my tresses to revive them from the brink of damage. I wish I could afford to purchase this up more often.
