Question:
How often is good to straighten your hair? And what’s a good product to make it last long?
I have very full, thick, Type 4 hair.
I think of straightening hair a bit like a game of Russian Roulette.
Answer:
I think of straightening hair a bit like a game of Russian Roulette. You just never know how your curly, coily or kinky hair will react to the intense heat of flat ironing, or which time you’ll end up with heat damage, which is irreversible. Does that mean you should never straighten you hair? Absolutely not. Life is too short not to have fun with your hair and take the occasional risk. If you’re going to straighten, be strategic about it. Try to keep the flat iron temperature at or below 350 degrees. Use a good heat protectant such as Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Heat Protection Serum. And, don’t straighten more than twice per month. Looking for a good straight hair tutorial?
