We are Beauty Vloggers Kelsey & Kendra Murrell, also known as the “GlamTwinz”. Our YouTube Channel is GlamtTwinz334.
How long have you been natural?
Kelsey & Kendra: We’ve been natural for over 4 1/2 years. We’ve never looked at it as a “Journey”. We just made a conscious decision to stop getting relaxers in 2010 and started the transitioning process. We realized that we didn’t need relaxers at all. We just wanted our hair to be more healthy. We never took any before and after photos because we didn’t look at it as a “Journey” but as a “New Hair Lifestyle”.What’s your daily hair routine?
Kelsey & Kendra: We wear our hair curly 6 months out of the year (normally warm/summer months. So it really depends on if we wear it curly or straight because sometimes we do straighten our hair. If it’s curly we generally put it up in a pineapple at night. Apply our favorite Curly product, shake it out in the morning and go! If it’s straight we wrap it at night and comb out/style the next day.
What are your favorite products?
Kelsey & Kendra: We both really like Curls products. Plus they are a great deal!
What’s your nighttime routine?
Kelsey: Pineapple at night along with a satin bonnet.
Do you ever get tired of curly hair?
Kendra: Yes, I really like versatility and I feel that women of color can do this. Since we are more educated regarding our natural hair, many of us now realize that we can have the best of both worlds and wear it curly or straight without relaxing and limited heat. We just have to know how to properly care for our hair in whatever state it’s in curly or straight!
The YouTube natural hair scene is continuously changing, how do you stay
relevant?
Kelsey & Kendra: Stay true to who we are and continue doing what works best for us! Remember, what got you there is what will keep you there!
When did you start vlogging?
Kelsey & Kendra: We created a YouTube channel in 2009 but did not apply for/become partners until 2011 after watching other beauty vloggers. We were inspired by them and decided to go it for ourselves!
How did you become successful vloggers?
Kendra: Passion for the beauty industry and consistency!
What do you like most about vlogging?
Kelsey: Being able to give helpful information and making others look and feel beautiful about themselves is very rewarding.
What do you want to do beyond YouTube?
Kelsey & Kendra: We both are graduates from Aveda Institute Atlanta and are licensed “Master Cosmetologists”. We have recently launched our very own on-site hair & makeup business called “Beauty by GlamTwinz”. We work with clients for events such as: weddings, proms, beauty pageants & cheer-
Do you have any advice for new natural hair vloggers?
Kelsey: Definitely have a passion for it, otherwise you won’t want to continue it once you’ve started. A lot of people don’t know what they are getting themselves into once they realize what it entails. It’s more than just sitting in front of a camera. Invest in a good camera, and editing software. Do it for yourself. Not a trend. Always be yourself.

Kelsey & Kendra: We’ve got a few things up our sleeve….just keep expecting great things from the GlamTwinz as we continue to strive for greatness!
