The 2011 Emmys brought with them not only great talent, but also great curly hair styles. For us curlies, the red carpet was glowing with our fellow curl sisters. Who are these women who dare to bare the curl, and how can we get the same look?
Gina Torres, Laurence Fishbourne’s wife and actress, looked spectacular by keeping it natural on the red carpet and showing off her great 3C spirals. Keeping the curls hydrated so they are shinny and frizz free is key to the overall look.
Julianna Margulies, who won Lead Actress in a Drama Series for “The Good Wife,” kept every bit of her 3B hair in place with her 40’s style set. By blowing out the hair, recurling with a large barrel curling iron, pinning the front in place, and then lightly brushing out the curls, this set with stay all night.
Andy Samburg, of Saturday Night Live, kept his funny guy 2C hair short, sweet and tousled with a great defining paste.
Cat Deeley, of “So You Think You Can Dance,” had her 2B waves styled with a curling rod and texture spray to create a beach wave pattern and subtle texture.
Christina Hendricks, of “Mad Men,” and her fiery red hair sizzled on the red carpet with her 2B curls accentuated with a 2-inch curling iron and teased to create lots of volume, fullness and lift.
