The CMAs should stand for Curly Music Awards with all the curlies out last night as they were definitely representing. There was no shortage of curlies on hand and the loose beachy look was definitely big.
Country Curly Women
Taylor Swift was natural and curly tonight with her demure and innocent look. Her style is perfect for Type 3a curlies, and is easy to style. Start with a deep part and create subtle curls use a curling cream to increase and hold the curl, but that will not look wet or crunchy. Try something like AG Hair Cosmetics Re:Coil Curl Activator.
Kimberly Perry, from The Band Perry, who won Single of the Year and New Artist of the Year, looked fabulous while she was receiving so many huge awards last night. She had a loose mock bob with her Type 3a curls. To achieve the look yourself, pin the bottom layers underneath the top layers to give the appearance of a bob. This is a fantastic way to change up any style for just an evening, with no commitment.
Jennifer Nettles, of Sugarland, who won Vocal Duo of the Year, started the evening looking like a Greek goddess with her curly updo. Her Type 2c waves were pinned up for half the evening to accentuate the curls and then let down when she performed to let her curls loose while she rocked out on stage.
Shawna Thompson, of Thompson Square, completely changed her style last night and looked hot! She got rid of her chunky blonde highlights and went black and curly. Her Type 2c hair was voluminous, pinned half back and looked as shiny as ever with the help of a shine serum.
LeAnn Rimes, who presented last night, was as glamorous as ever. Her half up half down style stayed in place all evening. She achieved this fabulous look by pulling the top half up, creating a real sleek look, then scrunching her beachy Type 2a curls on the bottom half of her hair.
Kimberly Schlapman, Little Big Town, kept with her signature big sexy curls. Her 3c hair was ammmmmazing! She is the ultimate curly girl. Her hair is styled by using a curl enhancing gel and frizz free serum together to create volume, hold and shine.
Faith Hill stunned us with her first performance in five years and with her graceful beauty. Her Type 2c waves flowed back effortlessly. The waves and volume were created with a volumizing gel and by pinning at the roots to create lift.
And Don’t Forget the Curly Men!
Dierks Bentley is a genuine curly Q man. His Type 3a curls were held perfect in place with a great curl enhancing gel.
Blake Shelton, Male Vocalist of the Year, rocked it on stage with “Footloose.” He kept definition in his Type 2b curls with a strong hold gel, so his hair was never out of place.
Lionel Richie went country with Darius Rucker tonight. He kept his Type 4a hair short, cropped, and in control with a strong frizz free styling cream.
