Ask Curly Emmi: Review of Frizz-Ease 3 Day Straight

Natural Red-Head

Piper’s natural hair

First of all, I want to make it perfectly clear that I love my curls. It is a part of my signature look. But sometimes a girl needs a change.

So when my mother offered me the opportunity to try the new Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight product, I was excited. It seemed like a cool idea that I could have straight hair for a few days but go back to my curls as soon as I took a bath.

My friend Piper also wanted to try it, so she came over to my house on a Saturday afternoon.

It was a relatively easy process. I washed my hair and then Megan, who works with my Mom, sprayed on the product and blew my hair out. Then, she went through my hair with a flat iron. Voila. Straight hair! Shiny, smooth, straight hair!

Piper was a little nervous. She was afraid she might never see her curls again, but we assured her it was temporary.

So she went through the same routine, and her red hair was silky straight. She was super excited to see herself with longer, smoother hair, even though she said she likes herself with curly hair better.

The real test came over the next two days. I had a gymnastics performance and had to wear my hair in a ponytail on top of my head. Piper was a Bon Bon in several performances of the Nutcracker and had to wear her hair in a bun.

Even with all this, our hair stayed silky and shiny. My mother went through my hair Monday morning with a flat iron and it looked as straight as ever!

It was fun to show up at assembly on Monday morning and see the reactions of my friends to my new look. They all wanted to put their hands through my hair!

I returned to my curls this morning. But it’s nice to know I have options! Everybody needs a change of pace every now and then—even a 10-year-old!
