Rock stars are known for their outrageous styles and outlandish outfits. Throughout decades of popular music, the landscape of fashion has been influenced by musicians flaunting their individual creativity – that’s what makes them rock stars, after all. The Beatles with their now-famous Beatle Cut, Elvis Presley’s sideburns, big hair bands from KISS to Motley Crüe, Elton John flamboyant in oversized glasses and sequined capes, Jimi Hendrix with his all-out ‘fro, Prince during his purple reign, Madonna in everything from virginal wedding dresses to cone bras, and of course, The Gloved One himself, Michael Jackson. While innovative costumes were in no short supply last night (most especially thanks to Cee Lo Green”>, the hair was the focus of our love affair. Curls were everywhere, from Grammy Award winning Best New Artist jazz bassist and multi-instrumentalist Esperanza Spalding to the original golden-voiced diva herself, Barbra Streisand.
