Whoever is responsible for styling the hair of Yara Shahidi, please come forth. You deserve your flowers for the numerous times you have left us floored and gagged. If this were a natural hair committee, Yara would be president.
She makes the silk press girlies want to end their winter subscription and spring right into curly styles with her voluptuous hair. She styles her natural tresses effortlessly, and for this, we’ve dedicated a whole list of how you can, too. We won’t judge if you copy these looks bar for bar. We encourage it.
Here are 18 styles to replicate this season, courtesy of Miss Shahidi.
1. Braided Ombre Pigtails

This is such a cute and fun look. Yara is captured with two middle-part ponytails and two braids within each ponytail. Towards the ends of each braid are silver blonde extensions braided with her natural hair to create a natural ombre look.
2. Medieval Half-Up, Half-Down

This look is for all my risk-taking girlies. Yara is rocking a wand curled half up, half down complimented with triangle curly cut bangs. This messy look is sure to receive a double take.
3. Sleek & Tuck

A style so simple yet elegant. This is the perfect look to compliment a gorgeous bone structure similar to Yara’s. Yara is seen with her natural waves slicked back and tucked under. Creating the illusion of a short cut, this is a great switch from traditional styling.
4. The Braided Pony

This is a great short-term protective style. Yara has used dark brown natural curl extensions, giving a two-toned coily pattern at the ends of her braids. This ponytail is perfect this season as you can decorate this look with festive accessories.
5. Sleek and Low Middle-Part Pony

With such a classy appeal, you are sure to embody sleekness with this hanging tail. To ace this look, you can slick your natural hair back and attach loose curl extensions towards the bottom of your natural bun. With the extra hair, you can braid it and circle it around the base, similar to Yara’s approach.
6. Swoop Part and Braided Tails

The stylist most definitely understood the assignment with this look. This is not your average pigtail style, as Yara has paired the braids with a swoop bang and overlaying part for an unexpected finishing touch.
7. Sleek Rope Braid

This braided look is everything but ordinary. Yara has used natural curly extensions for a longer appeal leaving the natural curls out instead of braiding the ends. Shop Honey Baby Naturals Really Hold It Honey Intense Hold Styling Gel from our NC Shop to achieve this slick look.
8). Cornrows with a Twist

Yara looks stunning with these curl complimenting braids. For this look, Yara has six parted braids with her natural curls left out around her hairline. She also has loose curls hanging throughout her braids and towards the ends, giving a boho chic look.
9). Curls and Clips

This is probably one of our favorite Yara Shahidi hair moments. This look is so playful and filled with color. Yara is pictured with an extended half-up, half-down curly hair-do, paired with colorful pastel clips, sitting at the top of her half-up pony.
10. High Pony

The high ponytail is a classic, resulting in a debonaire look. Both sleek and fun, Yara has her top bun elongated with inches hanging beyond her shoulders. Her baby hairs are all the drama, too.
11. Bun Locs

Channeling her inner Janet, Yara is seen rocking her hair slicked into miniature buns with her faux locs defying gravity. This look is so diverse yet clean. This is the perfect style to save for Black History Month.
12. Croissant Bun

This look is perfect for my low-maintenance ladies. Wearing a wavy pulled-back bun, Yara is embodying simplicity at its finest.

We’ve reached yet another iconic look. Yara’s infamous Met Gala look. She is pictured wearing a braided cap, similar to one you’d see for a sew-in, with fluffy curls underneath. To complete this look, she wore pearl embellished hair accessories to compliment the elegance of this style.
14. Braided Puff

This style is great for just about any season. This hairstyle was completed with a braid roped into her voluminous curly updo. Just like Yara, this look is timeless and appropriate whenever.
15. Curly Bangs

Bangs are definitely in season this year. Don’t think you have to cut your hair to achieve this look. You can pin your curls to cascade over your hairline, similar to Yara.
16. Bantu Knots

Another protective style that can be worn beautifully is the Bantu knots. Yara has them parted diagonally with bouncy curls mixed in between.
17. Braided Plats

This is another simple protective style that can last up to a week. Yara has parted her hair in four with kinky extensions for a naturally long look. You can keep these braids fresh and maintained using Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil from our NC Shop.
18. Cluster Knots

This style is both elegant and classy. Yara has her Bantu Knots arranged in clusters into a multi-part bun for this look.
