Type 2 Wavy hair is very unique. As beautiful as it is, we have our own separate struggles and challenges for getting our hair to look its best. Yes, the curly wavy hair struggle is real.
Wavy Girl Struggles
A consistent curl pattern on our whole head is just not a thing.
2b’s are right near 3b sections sometimes.
Never having the same results or definition, even if you use the same products and method as before.
Finding products that will give some wavies the moisture their hair needs but without weighing their hair down at the same time.
Waking up to effortlessly gorgeous hair: a weird phenomena only a few wavies have experienced…
Putting hair in a ponytail or messy bun will stretch out our curls until the next shower (although sometimes I don’t mind this”>.
Type 3 & 4 curlies thinking our hair is easy to just style and go… it’s not.
Having to check the humidity level to see if it’s worth bothering to wear our hair down.
Constantly going out with wet hair because some of our hair looks best when it air dries but at the same time it takes hours to do so.
Trying to figure out the diffusing blow-drying thing without our hair losing its curl definition and turning into a frizzy mess.
People thinking our hair doesn’t look “neat” and it looks “unkempt” just because we don’t have a consistent pattern.
(I’ve heard this way too many times before, it is frustrating”>.
“Why not just straighten your hair?” — as if it’s that easy.
Non curly girl hair dressers CONSTANTLY trying to push keratin and straightening treatments on us.
Stop. Just, stop. Now. Thanks.
